Included here are some of those articles. • Keep an eye out for "Vishing" attacks Have you received a phone call from your bank requiring you to call them back? Received an email from a financial institution requiring a phone call for verification? Chances are someone is perform a Vishing attack against you. Vishing attacks happen when a malicious person tried to get you to call a number and give confidential information. Sometimes the number you call will be answered by a person while other times it will be answered by an automated attendant. There are couple key things to remember to keep yourself from being a victim. First, if you receive an email or voicemail that requires you to call a number, do not trust that number. Even if it's an 800 number, it still may be fake. Instead lookup the number to the organization on your or if it's a financial institution, call the number located on your debit or credit card. This number is guaranteed to be real and the staff member who answers can connect you to the correct department. |
